What is VVAVVE™ and how does the portable emotional wellbeing mask work?

VVAVVE™ is the portable wellbeing mask developed by yeshcube, combining immersive audio, soft light blocking and the artificial intelligence architecture of Somia™. It is designed for short experiences of calm, mental clarity, focus or rest without depending on a screen. It brings together in a single device the reduction of visual stimuli and an enveloping sound experience, two functions that usually require separate items. In that format, VVAVVE offers portable emotional wellbeing, outside booths and fixed rooms. The description of the device is in what the wellness mask with immersive audio is.
The ERL scale (Evidence Readiness Level) measures the evidence maturity of a solution across six levels, from the initial hypothesis (ERL-0) to consolidated impact (ERL-5).
Portable emotional wellbeing: why the environment has to travel with the person
Scientifically backed wellbeing solutions usually live in one particular place: an acoustic booth, a rest room, a fitted-out space. Anyone looking for a pause depends on getting there. Outside those environments, the usual resource is a phone app, with the screen at the center and notifications competing for attention.
Two requirements follow from that. The first is sensory: a short break only works if the stimuli around you are reduced. A lit screen works against it. The second is about place: the calm environment has to travel with the person instead of waiting for them in a room. VVAVVE answers both.
Design principles
Five criteria shape VVAVVE’s design:
- Portability: the sensory environment is generated around the person in a device that can be carried and used at home, in certain workspaces or on a long journey.
- Stimulus regulation: soft light blocking reduces visual information, and the audio concentrates the experience on voice, sound and silence, without seeking total isolation.
- Audio first: the session moves forward through sound and vocal guidance, without demanding attention on a visual interface.
- Zero screens during the experience: the digital infrastructure stays available, but stops taking center stage for the duration of the session.
- Bounded sessions: each experience lasts between 5 and 20 minutes, with a defined beginning and end, as against continuous content consumption.
How those criteria translate into the shape of the product is set out in the screen-free design principles of the device.
How it works: the mask and the Somia layer
VVAVVE acts as the physical interface of the experience and Somia provides the artificial intelligence layer. The mask sets the sensory conditions, the light blocking and the spatial audio. Somia orchestrates the content, guides by voice and sustains the interaction within the limits of each session. That separation makes it possible to update experiences and capabilities without altering the device’s function.
A session follows a defined path. The person puts on the mask and chooses an experience. Enveloping audio and vocal guidance lead the session for the planned minutes, with the eyes at rest. At the end, the experience closes without dragging on.
VVAVVE offers the experience in three modes. Sensory brings together soundscapes and adaptive music that work without conversation. Immersive adds guided conversations with Somia, which adjust how the session unfolds to the context. MyBloom groups structured programs that adapt to each person’s rhythms and goals.
The technology, ethics and evidence criteria that layer applies are gathered in the Somia Within certification the device holds.
Data and privacy
VVAVVE handles information under Somia’s data regime. Personalization memories are enabled only by the person’s decision and can be viewed, edited or deleted at any time. The architecture is local-first: data lives on the device by default and is only synchronized when that option is expressly enabled. The microphone is voluntary and can be switched off. Processing is governed by the GDPR and the LOPDGDD, with Yeshcube Tech, SL as controller. The details are in the Somia article.
Evidence and validation status
VVAVVE holds level ERL-2, controlled pilot: the experience has been assessed in a study with a protocol and ethical approval. The Blind Echo Experience study brought together 89 participants across 119 sessions over six months and recorded self-reported improvements in perceived stress and mental clarity, measured with rating scales and without a control group. Those results reflect the participants’ perception. Clinical efficacy requires a formal validation that this pilot does not provide.
Level ERL-3 (initial transfer) requires the product to be commercialised and evidence of scaling with controlled studies and independent review. VVAVVE will declare it once that stage is complete. The full results, the sample and the methodological limitations are in the validation report of the Blind Echo Experience program.
What it is for and what it is not
VVAVVE is designed for short wellbeing breaks in contexts where a mask and headphones feel natural: at home, in certain workspaces or on a long journey. For a few minutes it offers an environment of calm, focus or rest. Each use situation is detailed in the spaces where a short pause fits.
Clinical ground is outside its reach. VVAVVE does not carry out diagnoses or treatments, does not measure physiological processes and does not replace healthcare or psychological care. Its value lies in the sensory architecture, the portability and the integration with Somia, with no medical or biometric functions.
Status and availability
VVAVVE v¹ is the first working version, at prototype stage ahead of the commercial launch. Pre-orders open in two numbered editions. The Launch Edition comprises the first 1,000 units, each with its own number and up to 12 months of Somia Pro. The Founder Edition is limited to 100 units, with up to 24 months of Somia Pro and a Founder Pass transferable within the Somia ecosystem. The units, prices and reservation terms are in the pre-order of the Launch and Founder editions.
Product images, logos and media resources are in the press kit with brand assets.
VVAVVE brings the hub’s evidence-based wellbeing work into a portable device: a sensory environment of audio and visual reduction that a person carries with them, supported by the architecture of Somia.
Frequently asked questions
What is VVAVVE?
VVAVVE™ is yeshcube's portable wellbeing mask. It combines immersive audio, soft light blocking and the Somia™ AI architecture to create a personal sensory environment of calm, mental clarity, focus or rest, with no screens.
How long are VVAVVE sessions?
VVAVVE™ sessions last between 5 and 20 minutes. They are experiences with a defined beginning and end, designed as short breaks rather than continuous content consumption.
What evidence supports VVAVVE?
VVAVVE™ holds level ERL-2 (controlled pilot) on the ERL scale. A six-month pilot study with 89 participants recorded self-reported improvements in perceived stress and mental clarity, with no control group. These are perception data, not clinical efficacy.
Is VVAVVE a medical device?
No. VVAVVE™ is an emotional wellbeing device. It does not carry out diagnoses or treatments and no medical or biometric functions are attributed to it.
What stage is VVAVVE at and how can I get one?
VVAVVE™ v¹ is the first working version, ahead of the commercial launch, with pre-orders open. The Launch Edition comprises 1,000 numbered units with up to 12 months of Somia Pro. The Founder Edition offers 100 units with up to 24 months of Somia Pro and a transferable Founder Pass.
