Article cover: BeHealthy Calvià results: participation, Ika use and engagement

BeHealthy Calvià combined a six-month preventive program, a tracking application and a conversational voice interface. Its 150 public places were filled in under 72 hours, approximately three in four operational records completed basic onboarding milestones, and Ika achieved a 92.8% overall rating among valid evaluative responses.

Ika use was also associated with the most active segment inside BeHealthy. Participants who talked with Ika completed more sessions, used Feel Track more often and maintained more synchronization than those without recorded conversations. This relationship describes real-world usage behavior; it does not determine what caused the difference.

Key results

  • Demand: 150 places filled in under 72 hours.
  • Operational dataset: 158 records available for app-use analysis.
  • Onboarding: survey, health records or synchronization reached between 64.6% and 73.4%.
  • Deeper use: sessions and Feel Track were used by 34.8% of operational records.
  • Observed duration: a mean of 49.8 days among 101 participants with a dated synchronization window.
  • Ika: 186 analyzed conversations and 108 valid conversations.
  • Ika ratings: 92.8% overall, 92.2% perceived usefulness and 93.4% perceived wellbeing.
  • App + voice: Ika use was associated with more observed activity across every compared indicator.

What BeHealthy Calvià was

BeHealthy Calvià was a prevention and wellbeing program promoted by Ajuntament de Calvià with IKI Health Group. It offered 150 places to women over 35 and combined sessions, general health records, device synchronization, a survey, habit tracking and Feel Track for emotional self-reporting.

The BeHealthy app was the program’s main product and operating environment. Within it, yeshcube integrated Ika through Somia Within.

Ika offered brief voice conversations to support participants, organize what they expressed, encourage reflection and close with a summary or manageable step. It also received functional questions that emerged spontaneously while participants used BeHealthy.

From enrollment to sustained use

The program showed clear initial demand: all 150 places were filled in under 72 hours. Activity analysis used 158 operational records. These figures represent different bases: 150 is the program’s public capacity, while 158 is the export available for analyzing app use.

Entry milestones reached a broad share of the dataset:

Usage indicatorParticipants% of 158
Survey completed11673.4%
Any general health record11572.8%
Active synchronization10264.6%
At least one completed session5534.8%
At least one Feel Track record5534.8%

The difference between activation and deeper use appears when moving from surveys, records or synchronization to tools requiring continuity. A group of 34 participants used all four main tools, while 37 records showed no activity across the analyzed variables.

Duration and forms of participation

Duration was estimated through the window between each participant’s first and last synchronization record. Among 101 participants with a dated window, the observed mean was 49.8 days and the median was 48 days.

This metric approximates operational continuity but is not equivalent to opening the application every day. At the cut-off, 21 participants were still active, so their recorded duration remained a minimum value.

Use did not follow a single pattern. Some participants combined sessions and emotional tracking, others used only one of these tools, and another group remained at the initial milestones. This diversity helps explain the product as a journey with different levels of engagement.

How Ika was used

The conversational record contained 186 conversations. Of these, 108 met the technical definition of a valid conversation: at least two minutes long and marked as completed.

Conversations followed a structure of opening, listening, reformulation, brief exploration and closing. Recurring themes included tiredness, stress, irregular sleep, lack of time, family load, mood, motivation to move and habit management.

Ika also received 26 functional questions, mainly concerning wearable connections, recipes, record updates, the purpose of the app and continuation of the program. Voice therefore operated both as a support space and as a point where real usage needs surfaced.

How participants rated the conversation

Ika’s evaluation is based on 122 valid evaluations and 243 valid evaluative responses covering perceived usefulness and wellbeing.

Ika indicatorResult
Perceived usefulness92.2%
Perceived wellbeing93.4%
Overall rating92.8%
Responses at the highest positive value210 of 243 · 86.4%

Neutral responses represented 12.8% and negative responses 0.8%. The two negative responses concerned usefulness; the valid sample recorded no negative wellbeing ratings.

These indicators express reported perception after the conversation. They support assessment of reception and user experience but are not clinical measures.

The relationship between Ika use and BeHealthy activity

A shared technical identifier made it possible to compare activity from 63 Ika users and 95 participants without recorded conversations, without using names or email addresses in the aggregate analysis.

Activity indicatorWith Ika · n=63Without Ika · n=95
Mean completed sessions3.10.9
At least one session58.7%18.9%
Survey completed98.4%56.8%
Active synchronization92.1%46.3%
Feel Track use68.3%12.6%
Mean general health records24.18.3

Differences were consistent across every observed indicator: participants who used Ika formed the app’s most active segment.

Ika participation was voluntary. Women with greater motivation or availability may have used both the app and the conversation more often. The appropriate conclusion is therefore associative: Ika use identified a segment with greater observed engagement, without attributing that activity to Ika.

What this case contributes to Somia Within

BeHealthy Calvià made it possible to observe a Somia Within integration inside an external digital product under real-world conditions.

The case demonstrates five capabilities:

  1. Integrating voice conversation without separating the user from the main product.
  2. Adapting conversational function to a specific program and identity.
  3. Combining support, feedback and functional guidance.
  4. Measuring conversation and product activity through technical identifiers.
  5. Analyzing aggregate patterns with consent, anonymisation and traceability.

The Calvià experience now continues in BeHealthy San Francisco, where IKI Health has integrated Ika again.

How to interpret the results

The data describe demand, onboarding, operational duration, tool use, conversational experience and reported perception. They come from a real program with voluntary participation, not from experimental allocation.

The app and Ika technical windows were not identical. Feel Track relied on self-reporting, and Ika evaluations came from participants who completed the relevant interactions.

The scope is therefore concrete and useful: understanding how BeHealthy was used, how Ika was received and what relationship appeared between voice and digital activity. The results do not constitute diagnosis, treatment or evidence of therapeutic efficacy.

Frequently asked questions

What was BeHealthy Calvià?

It was a six-month preventive program promoted by Ajuntament de Calvià with IKI Health Group. It offered 150 places to women over 35 and combined sessions, records, data synchronization, habit tracking and everyday wellbeing.

What role did Ika play in BeHealthy?

Ika was the conversational voice interface integrated through Somia Within. It offered brief conversations for support, reflection, habits, feedback and functional questions about the BeHealthy experience.

How did participants rate Ika?

Across 243 valid evaluative responses, Ika achieved a 92.8% overall rating, 92.2% perceived usefulness and 93.4% perceived wellbeing.

Did Ika users engage more with the app?

In the matched dataset, 63 Ika users showed more activity than 95 participants without Ika across sessions, synchronization, Feel Track and health records. This is an observed association and does not establish causality.

Do these results demonstrate clinical efficacy?

No. The results describe use, operational engagement and reported perception. The program was not a clinical trial, and the data do not support claims about diagnosis, treatment, stress reduction or therapeutic efficacy.
