yeshcube has completed its participation in the eighth edition of UNICEF Lab, UNICEF Spain’s acceleration program for social-impact projects. The process contributed to the development and reshaping of Kiwikidoo™, a voice-based interactive adventure platform for children and families.

yeshcube was one of four projects selected from more than one hundred applications. Over several months, the team took part in a personalized program supported by professionals specializing in innovation and social impact.

The work helped clarify Kiwikidoo’s purpose, review its value proposition and prepare the project’s first public tests.

Participation in UNICEF Lab

UNICEF Lab supports initiatives seeking a positive impact on children, adolescents and their families. The eighth edition focused on projects applying artificial intelligence, immersive technologies or prescriptive analytics.

yeshcube participated alongside Somos Valientes, Atenxia and BCN Resol. The four teams presented the development of their projects during the edition’s Demo Day.

The program combined working sessions, mentoring and support adapted to the requirements of each initiative. This process helped review Kiwikidoo’s initial proposition and organize its development around a children’s experience based on voice, decision-making and interactive storytelling.

The collaboration with UNICEF Spain provided a working framework focused on social impact, children’s rights and the definition of indicators for assessing the project’s progress.

The development of Kiwikidoo

Kiwikidoo is a voice-based interactive adventure platform in which children make decisions within stories designed to support learning through choice, values development and family conversation.

Each adventure presents situations, alternatives and consequences. Children participate through their voices, and their choices change the route within the narrative paths defined for the story.

The UNICEF Lab process helped place decision-making at the center of the proposition. The stories are conceived as participatory experiences in which children listen, respond, explore options and observe the narrative consequences of their choices.

The experience also aims to give families a starting point for conversations about behavior, emotions, conflict and ways of acting. This dimension forms part of the product’s purpose and guides its forthcoming user tests.

A voice-based experience

Kiwikidoo follows an audio-first approach, with voice and sound as the main interaction channels.

Children listen to the story, respond orally and make decisions without depending on continuous visual navigation. Screens have a limited presence during the adventure, while interaction centers on listening, imagination and spoken expression.

The conversational architecture recognizes responses and organizes progression within the planned route. Content, available options and narrative consequences are prepared for each story.

This design supports individual experiences and creates the possibility of shared formats for families, groups of friends and educational settings.

Responsible technology for children

Kiwikidoo’s development incorporates structured content, bounded conversational functions and adult supervision.

Artificial intelligence systems support response recognition, interaction management and narrative continuity. Their operation remains within the content and rules defined for each adventure.

The principles of Somia Within provide a framework for transparency, safety, data governance and the boundaries of the conversational experience.

The application must explain in accessible terms how artificial intelligence is involved, which information it uses and which controls belong to parents and carers.

Age suitability, privacy, accessibility and content quality form part of the areas to be assessed throughout development.

Inclusion and neurodivergence

Kiwikidoo includes a development line focused on adapting experiences to different attention, comprehension and sensory-processing needs.

Potential adaptations include changes to narrative pace, session duration, decision complexity, repetition of instructions and the intensity of sound stimuli.

These variants will be studied with children, families and specialist professionals. The objective is to identify which configurations provide understandable and accessible experiences for diverse profiles.

Inclusion is treated as a criterion across product design, content and user testing. Individual requirements may vary according to the person, age and context, so each adaptation will require specific assessment.

From the program to initial testing

Completing UNICEF Lab opens a new phase for Kiwikidoo focused on technical development, story creation and assessment with children and families.

The first public presentation was scheduled for Expociencia 2026 at the University of Valencia Science Park. This activity provided an opportunity to observe initial reception of a voice-based interactive adventure in an event open to the public. The first results of that test are published.

Subsequent tests will assess story comprehension, ease of interaction, technical stability, age suitability and family responses.

They will also examine the conversations that arise after the adventures and the continuity of the experience across different usage settings.

Outcome of the program

Participation in UNICEF Lab has enabled yeshcube to move from an initial proposition toward a more precise definition of Kiwikidoo, its audience, operation and impact objectives.

The process connected technological development with social-innovation criteria applied to children. It also provided a framework for organizing the next phases of creation and assessment.

Kiwikidoo continues its development as a voice-based educational entertainment proposition built around stories, choices and children’s participation. The next phases will focus on expanding content, improving the experience and gathering evidence from use with children and families.
